Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Monthaven Chardonnay is crafted from selected vineyards throughout California's diverse Central Coast, with a focus on fruit from Santa Barbara and Monterey. The Santa Barbara components deliver rich tropical notes on both the nose and palate, while cool climate Monterey components deliver crisp apple notes and balanced acidity. To show the best of Central Coast Chardonnay's varietal nature, Monthaven is a blend of cold fermented, barrel fermented and barrel aged wines. The result: a wine full of flavor, with balanced acidity and a clean finish.

About the Octavin
Octavin Home Wine Bar's patent-pending package design prevents oxidation. Every glass tastes as fresh and flavorful as if the wine was just opened, even up to six weeks after your first sip. It's the perfect choice for those interested in just one glass with dinner.

Octavin Home Wine Bar's innovative design allows us to invest in making great wine, not expensive packaging. By eliminating heavy glass and expensive cork and closures, we reduce the cost of packaging and shipping, and pass on those savings to you. While each Octavin contains the equivalent of four standard bottles of distinctive artisan wine, you often end up paying the price of just three bottles.

So go ahead and break the glass habit--and mother nature just might thank you for it. By choosing Octavin Home Wine Bar over four carbon-inefficient heavy glass bottles, you reduce packaging waste by at least 85% and carbon emissions by 55%.

I am a wine enthusiast and I have to admit that this wine was not bad. I purchased this item after viewing the reviews from other buyers, so I wanted to try it out; mostly for the convenience of not having to throw away bottles. I feel I made the right decision and I will purchase this wine again in the future.
