Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Miner began sourcing Santa Lucia Highland fruit from world-class vintners Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni in 1997. This well-known and loved vineyard is marked by sandy loam soils, dense fog and coastal winds and backed by fastidious growing practices. Made in a Burgundian style, Garys' Pinot Noir is richly textured with bright cherry flavors balanced by subtle oak.

Critical Acclaim

"Delivers a tight beam of spicy wild berry, blueberry and black cherry, firm and focused, maintaining its persistence on the long finish, which is enlivened by snappy acidity. Drink now through 2020."
