Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Light straw green color.Aromas of green apples, grass and minerals. On the palate Grapefruit, green melon and lime notes with a long, satisfying finish.

Critical Acclaim

"A creamed apple flavor gives this wine a warm, rich feel. It's weight matches its touch of minerality. Toward the end, a tropical character emerges, adding an exotic, ripe feel. Best Buy."

This wine is an amazing value. I experience melon at the first and then a citrus - like finish. Just a beautifully refreshing wine for sipping and a nice compliment to light white fish.

Learn About Bordeaux White Blends

Bordeaux White Blend
There's white wine in Bordeaux, too! Typically made from Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and bits of Muscadelle, white Bordeaux can be a fully dry table wine or, as in Sauternes, a deliciously sweet dessert wine. In other areas of the world, a Bordeaux blend consists primarily of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, either of which may be the predominant variety. Bordeaux blends can vary in style, but most have good acidity and often a mineral overtone.
