Ruby-red in color with intense aromas of blackberries and wild black cherries known as locally as le amarene in Italian. The delightful Aglianico manages to achieve both structure and softness on the palate, with flavors of dark berries and minerality that continue to unfold in the finish. Pairs beautifully with roasted meats or tomato-based soups and sauces.

High but harmonious acidity gives wonderful delineation to the sweet red fruit flavors, with smooth, fine tannins giving this tasty wine a seamless mouth feel. Doesn't have quite the complexity or length for an outstanding rating, but this is an irresistible glass of wine and a terrific buy."

Round and fruity, unlike most Italian reds which are highly tannic. The latter are hard to take often times for my palate, so I enjoy the Aglianico. Goes well with savory dishes or grilled vegetables, meats and lamb. Can also be a sipping wine, but really begs for food.
