Winemaker's Notes

"Aged 10 months in French oak, the unfined/unfiltered 2003 Marti Fabra Seleccio Vinyes Velles (70% Grenache, 10% Carignan, 10% Tempranillo, and equal parts Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits a rich, sweet perfume of black cherries and earth, an elegant attack, medium to full body, good depth as well as ripeness, and a long finish. Marti Fabra, a newcomer to the increasingly interesting Spanish wine scene, is located in an appellation that is revealing wonderful potential with its old vine Grenache and Carignan as well as its newer plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Tempranillo."

This wine was excellent! My wife & I were surprised by the excellent nose & the taste surpassed the nose. We enjoy a wine that presents both fruit & pepper, and this one really delivered. We bought it in CA before we moved, so we are trying to get the local wine store to find us a case.

Most wines from the Southern Rhone use Grenache as their...
