Marques de Murrieta Rioja Neonato 2000
Tempranillo
from Rioja, Spain
winemaker's notes:
2000 was a good quality vintage in Rioja, particularly in the south, due primarily to a long hot summer.
Vinification
The wine was fermented in temperature controlled, 30,000 litre stainless steel tanks with constant skin contact over nine days. The wine is pumped over the top of the grape cap during this time to attain adequate extraction.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Bright ruby-red in color. The ripe, pure Tempranillo fruit gives off flavors of dark cherries highlighted by a touch of sweet oak. Good balance and structure with a satisfying finish. Goes well with a variety of dishes such as red meat, cured ham, pasta with rich sauces or can be enjoyed just on its own.

A Customer - Massachusetts
This is it; the Spanish table red that goes with everything - or nothing at all. Plenty of flavor and never overpowering. Meat, chicken even chocolates go well with this, case after case.
