This wine is a Rioja, a nice result of the wonderful Tempranillo varietal. I selected this one as I have been enjoying the different wines made from the Tempranillo grapes which some say is not only the oldest, yet the original grape variety of Spain.
This is medium bodied with a clear ruby red color. I enjoyed the earth and spice tastes. If you find times for a light red, not powerful at all yet with a very respectful and interesting flavor, well here you go.
This went just perfectly with spicy pepper laced red pasta, spinach, cheese and garlic bread.
