Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

#78 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2011

Aromas reminiscent of white vinyard peach, nectarine, tangerine and flint. Complex mineral structure with a vibrant acidity, crystal clear. Great potential.

Try pairing with apricot tarte with soufflé of curd cheese and vanilla ice cream. Also try with foie gras terrine with gingerbread, huckleberry gelée, hazelnut streusel.

Critical Acclaim

"Vivid violet and black currant aromas lead to apricot, passion fruit and slate flavors in this sleek and flavorful Riesling. Though less intense on the finish, this lingers nicely. Best from 2013 through 2025. 500 cases made."
