This vintage displays deep, intense nose of black cherry and raspberry, a note of faded roses, and spicy sandalwood, clove and cinnamon in the background. On the palate it is silky and chewy, with great structure, bright acidity, and firm but supple tannins that promise a long life.
"The winery delayed the release of this block-designated Pinot later than its other 2008s, but even at four years old, it's still tight and acidic, a wine you really shouldn't open right now. Bone dry, it has a nice, balanced mouthfeel, with complex flavors of cherry, pomegranate, persimmon, tamari-splashed mushroom and oak. Cellar Selection."
