winemaker's notes:

Jumilla is an exciting new wine-making area in Spain. This wine is made from a combination of the most widely planted local grape variety called Monastrell (50%); barrel aged Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Shiraz (30%). Monastrell is a sexy grape that originated in the South of France but has flourished in this region of Spain, South East of Madrid, due to the warm weather that fosters the late ripening period of this particular varietal. 2003 was hot as hell in Jumilla, the hottest on record in fact. The harvest was moved up by 15 days to accommodate for the weather, also breaking records. The result is a wonderfully ripe, high quality wine that proudly represents this emerging growing area in Spain. The Monastrell grape brings raspberry, loganberry and mulberry flavors to the palate while the Shiraz carries white pepper notes. The Cabernet provides the backbone to the wine with a soft, round mouth feel and a sweet mid-palate.

A Customer - Austin, Texas
This is an excellent wine for an outstanding price! I loved the garnet color and smooth taste. It was terrific with spicy food and perfect for other everyday meals.
A Customer - Orlando, FL
Deep dark red, spicy with good flavors showing thru. Decent finish, but not lingering. The Monastrell varietal provides a very intriguing structure. Not Old World in construction, but not New World either, a nice blend. Most decidely something that i would try again
A Customer - Pleasant Hill, CA
This wine is superb! Received this as a selection in my wine order (Wine of the Month Club) May of 2006 and after reading the description and about the wine I knew it was going to be a great one! The first sip went down and my mouth was alive with the flavors and boldness, yet the finish was long and smooth. This was not what I was expecting having the cabernet in the mix. This is wonderful wine to give as a gift, and everyone I have turned onto this wine (almost 10 so far) have loved it.

Kosher wine
Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
