Deep ruby red with garnet hues, Brentino offers a complex bouquet of ripe berries, currant, and cedar, followed by spicy notes of licorice and wood. On the palate, Brentino is full-bodied and soft with perfectly balanced acidity. Recommended with hearty pasta dishes, roasted and grilled meats, medium-aged and creamy cheeses.

A blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine opens with elegant aromatics that meld into a palate of sweet dark fruit, herbs and toasted oak. There is excellent depth here, not to mention superb persistence and balance, particularly at this level. In short, this is a terrific value-priced red from Veneto. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012.
