The deep blackberry color carries through on the nose, mingled with blueberries and anise. On the palate, there are more black fruits and graphite combined with a lush, velvety texture. The bright fruit flavors complement dusty tannins on the finish, like fine dark chocolate sprinkled with raspberries. Our 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a great deal of finesse, and we can expect it to be at its peak from 2017 through 2021.
" Dry as dust and very tannic, this Cabernet simply isn’t ready for prime time yet. It’s tightly wound and tough, and resists breaking down. But there are plenty of blackberries tucked deep inside. Hold this elegant wine until after 2015."
"Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, pungent graphite minerality and menthol, lifted by a violet topnote. Dry, broad and ripe, with lovely lift to the flavors of plum, currant and minerals. Not as sexy at this stage as some past vintages of this bottling but perhaps more squeaky-clean. This nicely lush wine finishes with fine-grained tannins. From a blend of Coombsville and Howell Mountain fruit. The winery used a vibrating table for the first time in 2007, and winemaker McMahon noted that this facilitated the elimination of grapes affected by mildew."
