Luca Chardonnay 2008
Chardonnay from Argentina, South America
ratings pedigree (past vintages):
winemaker's notes:
Beautiful pale-gold color with enticing aromas of lemon crème, baking spices and some tropical notes. The aromas
carry through to the palate, and are joined by hints of tropical fruit, spiced baked pear, and a stony/mineral flavor
that creates a stylish wine that seems part New and part Old World. Finishes long with just a kiss of oak. This
Chardonnay has a lot of flavor, but manages never to lose its balance. Pairs well with most fish, lobster, crab, chicken,
and even many pork preparations. Particularly recommended with dishes using sautéed wild mushrooms or butter
sauces.

critical acclaim:
"The 2008 Chardonnay spent 12 months in 30% new French oak-aged sur lies before bottling without filtration. It has an alluring bouquet of toasty oak, baking spices, mineral, and tropical notes. This leads to a creamy textured, round, spicy Chardonnay with tons of flavor, excellent concentration, impeccable balance, and a length, pure finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."

The Wine Advocate
"Bright yellow with straw and green highlights. Musky, leesy aromas of pear, peach and minerals. Broad, layered and peachy, with noteworthy depth of flavor and a restrained sweetness. Best today on the ripe, long, smooth finish. Very satisfying chardonnay."
