Alcohol By Volume: 15.4%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
This structurally dense, full-bodied and complex wine was crafted to capture the essence of Napa Valley's diverse mountain terroirs. It offers ripe and concentrated aromas and flavors of blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate with toasty sweet oak. The intensity of the flavors along with the silky tannins culminates in a long, opulent finish. This wine can be cellared for 10 years.
"An intense, concentrated and sharply focused red, exhibiting a pleasant spicy edge to the currant and blackberry flavors that are full-bodied, deep and persistent, turning elegant and sophisticated, with a lingering finish that sails on. Drink now through 2022. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 533 cases made."
"The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 1 (100% Cabernet Sauvignon from four Napa Valley sources, Atlas Peak, Oakville, Mt. Veeder and the Silverado Bench) is a full-bodied, opaque purple-colored wine revealing notes of charcoal, creme de cassis, licorice and graphite. This intense Cabernet lingers on the palate with no hard edges and beautifully integrated oak (it is kept in 100% new French oak for two years). A stunning effort, it is capable of lasting 25 or more years.
