A masculine premier cru of firm full body and robust tannic structure, this wine shows rich, vigorous wild cherry and blackberry fruit on the palate with pronounced impressions of earth and ferrous minerals.
"Good medium red. Highly nuanced nose combines red fruits, tobacco, leather, dried flowers and Asian spices. At once dense and fine-grained, with considerable depth and power. Opens out impressively on the back half, finishing with considerable tannic support and a kick of raspberry and spice flavor. This is stuffed with fruit." 92 Points

"The Jadot 2005 Pommard Rugiens offers aromatic notes of tart blackberry, pungent wood smoke and hints of vanilla and caramel from new wood. Once again we have a Pommard of formidable intensity but for now at least, it is a little lacking in charm. The finish is long on smoke, stones and minerals, but tart fresh berry, bitter herbs and pungent spices also put in strong showings." 88-90 Points
