Los Vascos Le Dix 2001

The wine has a deep and intense purple to ruby color with ripe red berry bouquet; it has elegant pencil shavings lingering on the nose. It also has a crisp mouth, full of strong but harmonious tannins, delicious fruit and a classic well built structure to age. Although it is ready to drink now, it is also recommended to wait a couple of years to let it improve even more in the bottle.

"The flagship wine of this venerable winery, now hits the 90 point mark. Since being hired in 2001, winemakers Marco Puyo has updated this winery's style, and it shows. From a parcel on the estate called El Fraile, with 70-year old vines, this has lovely purity to its blackberry and cassis fruit, which races along loamy yet refined tannins and sweet mocha notes.
