Longoria Fe Ciega Vineyard Pinot Noir 2002
Pinot Noir
from Central Coast, California
winemaker's notes:
"Similar to Longoria's Mt. Carmel bottling, but trades a shade of opulence for greater tannins and an earth, tobaccoey note beside the cherries, mocha and oak. Rich and complex, with frim acids and a silky texture. Serious Pinot."

P…P…P…Pinot Noir at its' sublimest…is that a word? Either way this is a serious representation of a wonderful varietal. Flavors abound. At first a spicy cherry kirsch, followed by a an even more interesting toffee, caramel, chocolate, note. Finally, an everlasting finish…not necessarily characterisitic of a Pinot Noir, but in this case, the strength of Rick Longoria's winemaking skill shines through and allows for the Pinot itself to taste respectfully smokey and even luscious on the palatte.
