Fatoria Le Pupille translates loosely to "the pupils." These are the local nicknames for two rounded hills topped with country houses located in the heart of the Maremma, in southwestern Tuscany. This was the birthplace of Elisabetta Geppetti's Fattoria Le Pupille, the estate that launched Morellino di Scansano (the family had been growing grapes there since 1852) and that today boasts 60 hectares of vineyards. As winemaker, Elisabetta Geppetti has carried the word - and wines - of her native land around the world, becoming the Maremma's honorary ambassador.
