Winemaker's Notes

#19 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2009

The wine exhibits a pronounced floral aroma along with chamois leather and plum preserves. In the mouth the tannins are extremely supple with enough acidity to lift the fruit profile and add consideration length to the wine's finish. A conservative but appropriate alcohol of 13.7% keeps everything in harmonious balance.

Critical Acclaim

" Shows loads of pepper, beef, dark berry, teriyaki, mineral and spice. Intense, distinctive, full-bodied and focused, this is so complex and well-proportioned that all the flavors work together seamlessly. Drink now through 2015."
94 Points

"Deep ruby color. Perfumed aromas of spicy red and dark berries, baking spices and incense. Lush, silky and sweet, with nicely delineated raspberry, blackberry and floral pastille flavors. Slightly tough tannins build on the finish, which repeats the sweet red fruit qualities. This is showing complexity already. "

Ymmmm! Smooth with the perfect balance of fruit and oak. The scent alone is worth the price! I have had wines costing 3 times as much that are not as wonderful as this Syrah.

The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...

The home base of Syrah is the Northern Rhone, where it creates the exclusive wines of Hermitage and Cote Rotie. On the less pricy side, the Rhone makes Syrah-based wines in Crozes...
