Lamadrid Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina, South America
Wine Style Guide
Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.
Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.
Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.
Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.
Alcohol By Volume: 14.0%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
We strive for a terroir-driven Cabernet Sauvignon that
has color and fruit concentration that over-delivers at its price point.
"A very ripe, polished style, with flattering fig, licorice and fruitcake notes that glide through the velvety finish. A crowd pleaser. Drink now."
"Strong and extracted, and needing a few minutes to settle. The palate is concentrated, dark and chewy, with ripe berry flavors that hint at being medicinal and raisiny but don’t fully go there. While this is nothing earth-shattering, for $12 it's complete and should offer mass appeal."
"Medium red-ruby. Enticing aromas of plum, currant, cocoa powder and spices. Sweet and supple but with insidious acidity giving the wine vinosity and a light touch. In a cooler style, depending as much on its acids as on its tannins for structure. Finishes with a lingering note of chocolatey oak."
