Decanted the bottle before drinking. A deep, dark blood red, with purply garnet edges. Glorious to look at. Very different nose to what I expected. Coffe and tobacco over the top and dark fruit shooting up the middle! A brambly blackberry smell. With slight mineral tone. A touch of orange too. Really amazing nose to it. On the tongue, not quite a match for the nose, at first, but with air, opened up for a truly beautiful taste, and a long finish. Again, brambly black fruits and coffee dominate. A slight plum flavor. Very smooth tannins, perfectly matched to the fruit, but not very much acid. Alcohol heat is not an issue, although you can just barely make out the warmth, tho very subtle. This wine is sooo smooth and delicious, and did I mention the 30 second finish? Fantastic! Love this wine.
