100% Negroamaro that was harvested in mid September from head pruned vines. The wine was aged in 2-5 year old barrique for 6 months prior to being bottled. Very deep scarlet red in color with big, rich and spicy aromas of dense, red berry fruit. Soft and round with excellent balance and an alluring creamed rhubarb fruit character. The name Solyss is derived from "Solis," the Latin word for "sun." The name and label graphics are meant to reflect the intense sun in Puglia. as well as the intensity of the grape and wine it creates.
"Dark, saturated red. Very rich nose exudes overripe raspberry and red cherry syrup, along with a hint of figs macerated in alcohol. The cherry syrup note is present on the palate as well, where a hint of negroamaro's typical shoe polish flavor also becomes apparent. Finishes moderately long, with a trace of excess alcohol. Still, its aromas and flavors are so ripe and voluptuous that most tasters will find this irresistible."
