Winemaker's Notes

Crafted from a blend of 90% Syrah, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Viognier and 1% Zinfandel. The complex blending of these varietals gives a greater depth of flavors while showcasing the inherent fruit and spice characteristics of the Syrah grape.

Aromas of bold raspberry and boysenberry fruit. Flavors of black raspberries carry foward with hints of black tea, rich chocolate, and a touch of toast in the finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Kunde has nailed this price point for Syrah. It’s rich and complex enough to put on the table beside a fine meal, and while it’s not quite in the league of a cult Syrah, on the other hand it won’t demand all the attention. Dry and finely tannic, it features flavors of blackberries, cherries, leather, mocha, tobacco, pepper and sage, and finishes long and spicy."

Learn About Sonoma County

Twice as large as Napa in size, Sonoma County only makes about a half the amount of wine as her northeasterly neighbor. But Sonoma, with her size, is able to vouch for more diversity within her borders, including sub-AVAs that are climatically varied. The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...

Learn About Syrah/Shiraz

(seh-RAH/shee-RAHZ) It's a Smokin' Grape Syrah and Shiraz - same grape, different name. It's a popular and adept variety, growing in multiple regions and creating many different styles of wine. The home base of Syrah is the Northern Rhone, where it creates the exclusive wines of Hermitage and Cote Rotie. On the less pricy side, the Rhone makes Syrah-based wines in Crozes...
