Kumeu River Sauvignon Blanc 2009

This is the third year we have sourced grapes from the Awatere Valley in Marlborough, and this vineyard has given us the most distinctive and mineral Sauvignon Blanc to date. The wine shows remarkable restraint on the nose for a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with hints of box hedge, guava and leesy richness. On the palate, the quality of this wine shines through with lovely concentration and length of flavor not typically associated with Sauvignon Blanc. This wine avoids the aggressive nature of Sauvignon Blanc with lovely drinkability.

Perfect with oysters but will also suit most seafood.
