winemaker's notes:

This Pinot Noir is deep garnet, with a bright ruby tint. Aromas of cherry, eucalyptus, raspberry and spice fill the glass. The palate exudes flavors of pomegranate, vanilla, cherry, oak and lavender, with a soft rich entry, nice texture, good weight and a long lively finish.

alcohol by volume: 13.0%
critical acclaim:

"The 2010 Pinot Noir Signature Collection was tasted from a barrel sample. It displays a more expressive bouquet than the 2009, excellent depth and concentration, ripe red and black fruit flavors, and a medium-long finish. It reflects the excellence of the 2010 vintage. Give it 1-2 years of additional bottle age and drink it through 2020.
Range: 89-91"

Nice Oregon pinot, they have a great dessert wine also. This pinot is well balanced, nice finish.

I am well aware that Oregon is famous for their Pinot Noirs. Since I have never tried any wines from King Estate I thought that I would give this wine a go. I tried this wine with a friend not soon after it arrived at my door. We both found it to be delightful. It is an earthy style which I would classify to be more of a Burgundian style of Pinot with lots of deep strawberry and jam aromas in the glass. This is a Pinot that many newbies to the wine scene may not be ready for, especially if they are only familiar with a Mark West style of Pinot Noir. I will assuredly buy this wine again and perhaps try some of the other offerings from King Estate!
