Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Beautifully bright pale lemon color. With the crack of the cap, unleash the unexpected as an array of delicious aromas leap from the glass. Pink grapefruit, key lime, passion fruit, frangipani, and pineapple tempt your senses. An exuberant wine packed with flavor, balanced by mouth-watering acidity and a fresh, zesty, lingering finish. Perfect for all occasions, particularly delicious with fresh oysters, asparagus, lobster, or summer salads.

Critical Acclaim

"Juicy with bright peach, passionfruit and citrus; crisp, fresh, exuberant and long; lovely. "

Nothing compared to the 2011 or even the 2012, but interesting nonetheless. I kid you not, bouquet is exactly Circus Peanuts, so if you hate those, probably skip this one. I myself love them so I greatly anticipated pleasure in the flavor...but sadly :( was let down. A bit watered down and weak compared to previous years production.

I've tried a number of Sauvignon Blanc's. I really like the citrus flavor of a good Sauvignon Blanc. Sadly, a lot of the Sauvignon Blanc's I've really enjoyed seem to be available only for short periods. The Kim Crawford is one that is consistently available at a reasonable price and is consistently flavorful. It has the strong citrus flavor I so love in a Sauvignon Blanc. I still try others, but I keep returning to the Kim Crawford. In my opinion, it's the best in its price range.

We were never fans of Sauvignon Blanc....too much citrus. But during our visit to New Zealand we sampled the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and fell in love with it. We were concerned that we would not be able to find it again once we returned to the U.S. But happily, we were able to order it through wine.com. It is so pleasant to drink!
