Kenwood Red Table Wine 2006
Red Wine
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
A blend of 33% Merlot, 29% Petite Sirah, 20% Syrah, 15% Zinfandel, 2% Sangiovese and 1% Barbera.
A delicious, well balanced red wine with flavors of currants, dried cherries and spiced plums; it is medium-bodied with a refreshing finish.
Our quality, value-priced red wine is made from grapes grown in the best regions of California. The 2006 vintage is a perfect everyday drinking wine, full of ginger and baking spices on the nose and ripe red fruits in the mouth. Gentle tannins and a lively mouthfeel round off this approachable, easy-drinking wine.
The 2006 bottling uses a number of varieties to form a complex and delicious blend. Using the cuvée method, the winemakers keep each vineyard lot separate throughout fermentation and aging, thereby preserving the individual flavors of each vineyard. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the components are aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 18 months before blending.
Enjoy the fresh, fruity flavors of Kenwood's Red Table Wine with chicken, pasta, veal and pork dishes.
