Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay 2005
Chardonnay
from Central Coast, California
winemaker's notes:
Number 36 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007!
Elegant and tropical with hits of lemon and other citrus fruits. Notes of Fuji apple carry throughout this beautifully balanced and delightful Chardonnay. Lushly layered with an enchanting creamy texture and a finish that lingers on and on.

Better taste than the 2006, cleaner, crisp taste, perfect.
Wonderful - light and fruity with an oakey finish. Generally shy away from KJ wine but after visiting the winery at a 2007 Russian River event and trying this (along with a wonderful desert wine) - have decided Camelot Highlands will be a staple in our home.
I did not like this wine very much. Usually the Ken-Jacks are nice. This one was very bland after opening. After setting, the wine took on a dry, sharp taste that was not pleasant. It may have been the dinner (Thanksgiving turkey), but it shouldn't have been. Disappointed.

Our current "house white" at home. Our first impression after trying the KJ Grand Reserve was, WOW. Smooth texture, slight apple hints on the palate, and a nice finish without much acidity. We enjoy this wine with roasted chicken and even by itself on a warm summer evening. Doesn't hurt that it's also affordable.

Too much oak for me in this otherwise well-made wine.

Pretty smooth stuff. I'm going to try the Highland Estates Camelot Highlands Chardonnay from KJ to see how it compares to the Grand Reserve. The Highland Estates is supposedly even better, but we'll see.
