Winemaker's Notes

The fruit for this wine was sourced from Seven Hills Vineyard. Soils are silt loams originally depositied by the Missoula Floods which have been reworked by wind. All of the vines are own-rooted.

Critical Acclaim

"Ripe, round and generous with its plum, currant and cherry fruit, this is brushed by tar, cola and decaying leaf notes before the fruit emerges on the finish to linger beautifully against grippy tannins. Every sip shows a different facet. Best from 2012 through 2020. 382 cases made. "

Knockout stuff in this vintage, still has time to improve as the fruit explodes from the glass. Needs a good hour to decant, no doubt, although I couldn't wait that long.

Learn About Syrah/Shiraz

(seh-RAH/shee-RAHZ) It's a Smokin' Grape Syrah and Shiraz - same grape, different name. It's a popular and adept variety, growing in multiple regions and creating many different styles of wine. The home base of Syrah is the Northern Rhone, where it creates the exclusive wines of Hermitage and Cote Rotie. On the less pricy side, the Rhone makes Syrah-based wines in Crozes...
