A bright garnet color with a youthful edge and aromas of ripe berries, with spicy savory overtones.
Entry displays mulberries, blackberries and plum fruit characters with fine tannin and tasty acidity. As the wine moves through the palate, the mouth feel widens and becomes quite savory. The palate is rich and smooth with good length. The aftertaste is very Mourvedre (Mataro) with a strong flavor of dark chocolate.
The 2007 is a blend of Shiraz (54%) Grenache (24%) and Mourvedre (22%) This wine will age over the next 5 years, but freshness in style is what we intended. Enjoy.
"Bright ruby. Alluring aromas of black raspberry, Asian spices, minerals and tobacco, complicated by hints of smoke and game. Sweet, lush, broad and complex; spreads out to coat the palate with fresh red and dark berry flavors. With its lovely mineral precision and lift, the finish displays a distinctly juicy quality."

"The 2007 Stonehorse SGM (45% Shiraz, 24% Grenache, and 22% Mourvedre) spent 12 months in French and American oak. Dark ruby-colored, the nose offers up a fragrant perfume of spice box, violets, underbrush, black cherry, and blueberry. Full-bodied, forward, soft, and succulent, this is a pleasure-bent effort that will drink well for another 8 years. It is an outstanding value."
