This Cabernet Sauvignon is a mix of diverse vineyard sites throughout California; a combination of fruit that produces an elegant, structured and delicious profile.
The diversity of Napa Valley's appellations provide the 815 Cabernet with round, blackberry flavors from the valley floor and dark, complex mocha-like flavors from the hillsides. Volcanic soils and the higher elevation in vineyards northeast of Napa Valley help produce a wine with structure and a mineral component.
Fruit from the rocky red soils and moderate climate of the Central Valley adds balance, soft tannins, silky texture and bright red fruit flavors to the wine. In contrast to these warmer regions, the cool climate and longer harvest of coastal vineyards allow for more earthiness and acidity resulting in a black tea laced wine with spicy red fruit and peppercorns.
I friend bought this wine for us and we fell in love with it! For this price-point, the wine is great.
I am always looking for solid wines around $20 and this may be one of the better finds, especially for the price. It is not an overpowering, full bodies red wine if you consider yourself a wine veteran. However, it holds its own. A great wine for sharing with family and friends who like wine but don't exude the same passion as a wine ethusiast. I strongly recommend trying this bottle at least once.
I had this tonight at dinner and thought it was great with all the courses...
A great tasting wine with an easy finish. For the money it's a fantastic bottle, I highly recommend for any cab fans.
Approachable if you like light bodied wines. It does have depth with the cedar & raspberry upfront. The alchohol comes through a little too much howeverlet it breath and it nice to drink. Although I like it and would recomend it to someone as a food wine, it's just too light for my taste.
