winemaker's notes:
Giddy pleasure, leaping grace... this red wine, blended from seven noble grape varietals, was crushed by the syrinic hymn of 69 beautiful women, reaching for the high note in the wee light of dawn one misty October day. The nose is deeply perfumed with wild dewberries, Himalayan breeding musk and horehound candy, while the flavors, so titillating they may only be disclosed in the Ecstatic Singing Mantra, will remain cloaked in silence until the bottle is uncorked. Sip delicately, sing with abandon.

We bought a case of Jest Red last November; we gave most of the bottles as holiday gifts to friends and co-workers. Feedback from recipients was universally positive and enthusiastic. Jest Red is a fun fruity red that goes anywhere an unpretentious wine needs to. Serve this wine with cheese and crackers, or with dinner and a movie, the notes are easy to detect and the finish is light and bouncy. We highly recommend that that everyone buy a bottle or two, and then be sure to read and follow the directions on the label.

When out looking for some "other" reds, I picked up a bottle of this due to the other members review. Very glad I did. I've never bought a (NV) red wine before (No Vintage).
When I tried this both before and with some Italian food I found the very first statement on the description on the label to be very true. It says "Giddy pleasure, leaping grace". And that it has.
When finding the bottle empty, I went to the jestred.com website to learn a little more if I could about why this one was so unique and fun. From what they say, it is a blend of leftovers from several California wineries. They say it with no shame, nor should there be any. It's obviously a blend of some very fine "leftovers".
The low price is a shock to me for such a vivid and rewarding wine. Perhaps they will do something like this again in the future, but I don't see this one happening quite like this again.
Should drink well alone or with anything you should please to pair it with.
Complex, exciting and I have to admit, I feel a little guilty for paying such a low price for such a rare red romp.
Jest wish I had learned of it sooner when I could still get a few cases to cellar. Cause it looks like being able to find this one is going, going and about gone.

Just received my bottle yesterday, and had a couple glasses. This is a very nice red wine-I really enjoyed it! Lovely color and bouquet-not too sweet, just right and the fruity flavor is for me! I would probably rate this an 89-90 on the scale. No pretenses-a lot of fun to drink, and the bottle is fun, too! However, 1 hour was not enough to chill the bottle-the wine tasted much better after being chilled for a longer period. For experimentation-I added a cube of ice to the glass, and it was perfect. However, the cork did have a slight musty smell-but, it did not infect the wine yet. Yes, I would buy this wine again and it would be a great wine to serve to guests who normally dont like wine.
