Ironstone Old Vine Zinfandel 2006

Blend: 91% Zinfandel, 9% Petite Sirah

This classic Lodi Zin is produced from grapes hand selected from vineyards that are over 45 years old. These "old vine" vineyards produce grapes known for exceptionally concentrated fruit flavors and unprecedented depth.

The 2006 Zinfandel's blackberry and dark fruit aroma is balanced well with its ripe plum and sweet berry flavors. To enhance the rich flavor characteristics, the wine was aged in French oak for 6 months. This medium-bodied wine has a smooth and unpretentious finish.

Zinfandel wines have incredible depth and concentration of berry fruit flavors and spicy notes, so serve with herbaceous beef stews, grilled vegetables and red pepper pesto.
