Iron Horse Wedding Cuvee 1997
Vintage
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
Our Blanc de Noirs, made from predominately Pinot Noir, with a beautiful, pink-gold color which we boost by adding Pinot Noir still wine to the dosage. Rich and creamy, like strawberries and cream. Without doubt the most romantic of our Sparklings. Dangerously easy to drink. A favorite for many, Iron Horse is probably best known for this cuvée.Food pairing: Marries well with mushroom dishes such as a grilled Portobello sandwich or wild mushroom risotto, as well as Chinese chicken salad, poached salmon, chocolate dipped strawberries.

This is a great, drinkable champagne. I bought it for a friend whose getting married soon and we (he, not a regular wine drinker) enjoyed it tremendously with pasta. It is light enough that his fiance (even less of a wine drinker) will probably enjoy too, but someone whose into more complex wines (me) can enjoy as well. Pretty salmon colored champagne.
