The wine has an intense fragrant aspect with floral, blackberry jam, dark cherry and purple plum aromas. There is a distinctive oak component with cedar, hints of cinnamon and spice with flavors of cherry, red currant, almonds and a suggestion of minty milk chocolate. The mouthfeel is velvety with soft chalky tannins and minerals.
Luscious and lingering flavors make this an excellent wine to serve with robustly flavored dishes. A magnificent accompaniment would be our Grilled Flank Steak, or Filet Mignon with Wild Mushroom Sauce or prime rib with spicy fried potatoes.
