Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Dark ruby in color with aromas of cherry, blackberry, mint, and chocolate, this big red's got spicy, dark fruit flavors and supple tannins.

Style: Light & Fruity
I wanted to like this wine more. At the price for an 07 Petite it was a gamble. The flavor is good but light. The problem is that it just stops. No depth. No linger. Not a bad patio wine but if looking for those deep Petite Sirah basics this isn't it.

Being the father, Syrah imparted some of its flavors and characteristics to its offspring, but the two grapes are decisively different. Petite Sirah is mostly found in California, where it gained...
