Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

As one of their specialty bottlings of Dry Riesling, the Reserve draws from specifically identified lots, highlighting the very best qualities of the estate grown grapes from our three vineyard locations. The Reserve features a luxurious nose of tangerine followed by a delicate palate of citrus with a touch of juniper berry. A lingering finish continues to makes the mouth water long after the wine is gone.

Critical Acclaim

"From all three of Wiemer's estate vineyard sources, there's an aromatic tension here between brisk citrus accents and the richer scents of saffron and golden apple that provide a seductive depth of flavor. This is a wine that starts rich and broad, and finishes bright and citrusy, with juiciness that drives the wine toward a long finish."
92 Points

"Shows the slightly loose edge of the vintage, but there's very solid range here, featuring Jonagold apple, heather, papaya, dried pineapple and quince notes, with a flicker of shortbread on the inviting finish."
