winemaker's notes:
A blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot.
The 2004 Bourriquot shows lovely ripe Franc character, heading more into the cedary aromas, then blueberry and mineral range of flavors than the cooler-year tobacco. It has a full, sweet entry, then fine, firm tannins, and a presence that continues into a long finish—the mark of good Cabernet Franc. This wine shows how 2004 is the year that proves out winegrower care in the vineyard.
"A Cheval Blanc look-alike, the 2004 Bourriquot (70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot) is an elegant, savory, deep ruby/purple-colored wine revealing spicy, menthol, raspberry, blueberry, and incense notes. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin, it is a lovely finesse-styled red that should drink nicely for 10-15 years." 90 Points,
