Winemaker's Notes

Number 26 on the Wine.com 100 of 2007!

Balanced acidity, layers of complexity and firm tannins will allow for long and graceful aging of this highly expressive, inaugural vintage of Land's Edge Vineyards Pinot Noir.

Complex aromas of ripe cherries, violets and cedar are followed by flavors of perfectly ripe, firm black cherries, mixed red and black berries. Allspice and coffee notes complement a long, multi-faceted finish in this exciting, new Hartford Court Pinot Noir.

"Dry, crisp and delicate, the wine has a silky voluptuousness that makes it irresistable, with pie-filling cherry and black raspberry flavors finished with Asian spice. New French oak adds toast and vanilla sweetness. It's expensive, but still a bargain."

Delicate and smooth, went great with both chicken and pot roast...ordered 4 bottles, and might have to order more! Worth the price - I am going to give a friend a bottle for her birthday - if there's any left by then!

Sonoma valley simply produces the best Pinots in California. This wine is smooth with no bite, a full bodied tast and captures the complexity of the Pinot grape in full. A great buy.

I've had several Sonoma Coast wines of late, and what strikes me about this wine is that it is flawless to my mind. Too often, elegant is a descriptor for lean or thin, but this wine is neither of those. Yet it is elegant and refined and completely enjoyable. Put it next to a few others from Sonoma Coast, and it's clarity and brightness will stand out.

Learn About Sonoma County

Twice as large as Napa in size, Sonoma County only makes about a half the amount of wine as her northeasterly neighbor. But Sonoma, with her size, is able to vouch for more diversity within her borders, including sub-AVAs that are climatically varied. The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...

Pinot Noir hails from Burgundy, a region known for crafting the most collectible and sought-after wines from this varietal. Not only does Pinot reign in Burgundy, it is also...
