Harrison Cabernet Sauvignon 1994
Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, California
Alcohol By Volume: 13.0%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
"Supple, elegant and understated in style, showcasing a complex array of currant, earth, cedar and spice flavors. Finishes with dashes of anise and coffee, and a long, full aftertaste."
"A dense, saturated ruby/purple color is followed by a wine that requires coaxing to reveal its aromatic development. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, earth, and a touch of herbs are followed by a deep, rustic, tannic wine with considerable power and structure. If the tannin and acidity become better integrated, this wine will merit an outstanding score, but it is too soon to know if that will be the case. It will require 5-6 years of cellaring, and has the potential for 20 years of evolution.
Range: 88-90 points"
