Item No. 120631
winemaker's notes:

Jammy fruit from beginning to end—starting with aromas of blueberry pie, nutmeg and pepper. In the mouth, flavors expand to include boysenberry, plum, blueberry and spice. This full bodied wine has a bold tannin structure and balanced acidity that lead to a long finish. This big wine is anything but "petite."

alcohol by volume: 14.5%
critical acclaim:

"A really nice evocation of this variety, this is made in a soft style, with a Merlot-like velvety texture. But there’s nothing shy about the flavors: It bursts with ripe, jammy cherry, grilled pancetta, crushed pepper and sandalwood, and has a long, spicy finish. Best Buy."

Delicious!! It's a big, jammy style that's easy to drink and very fruit forward. It's a great value!

Subtle nose of raisin and plenty of fruit in the mouth. Jammy for sure!Smooth tannins. Because I like a big nose I probably won't buy this wine again, but it is very flavorful.Needs a lot of airtime to open! When it does, it is wonderful. It took 3 days under vacuum to reach it's potential.

Enjoyed this. Very dark fruit, like blueberry and plums, and a little peppery spice, but smooth.

This wine was a big surprise. It was easily favored over some very high-end reds at a recent event, and at one quarter the price. It opens up wonderfully in the glass and has enough depth to be enjoyed slowly. We paired it with a New Orleans dinner and it was perfect. Hard to pick a style. It's between big and bold and rich and smooth. At $11/bottle it is a great addition.

Excellant value for price. My wife really, really loved this one -- she wanted to give it a perfect score. Me? Well I would rate it a 92. I would by this wine again.

Not bad, not memorable. At the price, the Bogle is certainly preferable.

Being a Petite fan this suits me fine. It does not have the depth of a higher end Petite but does just fine with burgers or lighter fare.

Not the deepest purple Petite that I have had but it drinks much bigger than $10.99. Smooth with an absence of harsh tannins and with big berries on the front end, this is a real value wine. I would recommend aerating it and then decanting it for one hour before drinking to let it warm up. A real keeper!!

This Petite Sirah is Amazing. The tannins are balanced with rich, lush fruit and the finish is long and complex. A great wine!
