Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Marie de Beauregard Chinon is a deep ruby, shiny wine with garnet-red reflections. A nose of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant) which is delicately shaded by leather and vanilla. A powerful and racy mouth highlights the terroir and ends with good length.

Critical Acclaim

"Offers modern-style toast, with dark cocoa and graphite notes up front, but a core of sweet plum, cassis and bitter cherry notes, with smoldering tobacco and tapenade hints on the back end, keep this nicely grounded."

Learn About Loire

The main white grapes are Chenin Blanc, Muscadet and Sauvignon Blanc. For reds...

Its typical place is in a blend with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or both. Cabernet Franc's home is the right bank of Bordeaux. It is an integral part in...
