Rhone Red Blends
from Cotes du Rhone, Rhone, France
winemaker's notes:
What a delicious value! A blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, and 25% Syrah from 35 year old vines, aged for a year in oak casks. A deep purple color in the glass, with warm berry, plum and spice aromas. Full-bodied and elegant, with mellow tannins, warmth and aromatic intensity. You can age this wine successfully for up to 8 years. Delicoius with meat, game, spicy salami, and mature cheeses.

A Customer - new orleans
As a new wine enthusiast, I can not assure you of the quality of the individual flavors of berry and complexity of each hint of fruit; but I can say that it is worth the money. I have tasted many wines in this price range, and it is definitely a smooth, medium to full bodied wine with a soft-purple color. It is not overly dry. And at 13%alc. it is a good wine for the average learner who is looking for a chance to experience a taste of southern france without an overly complex and baffling experience, while it is still a pleasure to drink such a fruit as tasty as this particular Cotes De Rhone.
