Grgich Hills Yountville Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 1994

Somewhat heavier than our 1993 vintages, this 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon displays the typical dense, highly extracted fruit that comes from a long growing season and a smaller yield in the vineyard.

It has a sweet, spice sandalwood nose and deep, rich, plummy fruit flavors. A touch of chocolate and a hint of varietal green character round out the luscious flavors in this wine. The blend ins 89% Cabernet Sauvignon along with 8% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Still a young wine, it has a soft, mouth-coating tannins but successfully manages to combine extract with balance. We expect great things for this wine, and it may go down as one of our all-times favorites.
