Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Blackberries and raspberries leap out of the glass with undertones of olive and sage. This wine is amazingly soft on the palate, with firm but gentle tannins creating a mouthwatering sensation. Flavors of raspberries continue onto a long savory finish with touches of sage. Roast lamb with a Syrah reduction would be a hard combo to beat with this delicious wine.

Critical Acclaim

"Impressive, full-flavored and smooth, this rich and ripe Syrah offers classic, full-on varietal fl avors. A mix of plush red fruits with generous acidity and streaks of roasted coffee and mocha, the wine just goes and goes.

"Lively and juicy, brimming with blueberry, raspberry, sandalwood and red pepper flavors, tasting exotic but focusing on the long, invigorating finish, which has a welcome ripeness and balance. Drink now through 2015. 1,042 cases made."
