Winemaker's Notes

This wine is made by blending Malbec from the three best growing areas in Mendoza. In these areas, the grapes develop sweet tannins, intense fruit and good acidity/sugar balance, combining the characteristics of each area. Red purple color. Intense black fruits and red plum aromas. Smooth and concentrated tannins in the mouth.

"Intense inky hue with a purple rim. Heady aromas of mint, raspberry and plum. The plum theme continues in the flavor with the addition of a fudge-like sweetness. A ripe, drinkable wine with a balancing dash of black pepper in the close."

I bought Gascon because a local restaurant serves it and I liked it then. Nothing has changed. I still really love it for its smoothness. It doesn't have exceptional complexity, but it's a great wine nonetheless.

Really good wine for the price. Enjoyed it as much as the bottle that was three times as expensive. Lighter body for a Malbec, but very flavorful and had nice fruity AND smokey flavors.

The smell turned me off as I am olfactory-dominant. It was a stinky cheese odour. Not a favorite of mine; won't re-purchase.

Learn About Gascon

Tradition and innovation blended harmoniously when a spirited Don Miguel Escorihuela sailed penniless from Spain to Argentina in 1880. Four years later, he purchased 42 acres of land that would become the cornerstone of an exceptional wine making history.

Don Miguel Escorihuela Gascón and his descendants became known in Argentina for their consistently outstanding wines and for their unconventional undertakings.

Learn About Argentina

(ahr-jen-TEE-nah) Now fifth in the world for wine production, Argentina is catching up in the quality wine sector. A long time wine producer, Argentina used to make wine in order to drink it, not export it. And so the wines produced were quaffable and rustic and made for the local's everyday dinner. Yet it's hard not to get caught up in the wine market of the world and some...
