Winemaker's Notes

We blended this Zinfandel using grapes from our own Gallo Family Vineyards as well as selected blocks from our neighbors' ranches. There is a lot of Dry Creek Valley fruit in the blend, and Dry Creek typically means great Zin. We used a little Petit Sirah to add body and character. The wine completed malolactic fermentation. This is a traditional style of Zinfandel - characteristic jammy fruit– with an elegant texture and structure. You get a nice broad mid-palate and a fruit-filled finish. Try enjoying our 2003 Zinfandel with simple grilled meals ranging from burgers to lamb or pork roasts. The slightly smoky flavors of grilled foods pick up the pepper and spice of the Zinfandel in a perfect partnership.

Varietal Content: 80% Zinfandel; 12% Petite Sirah; 4% Tempranillo; 2% Syrah; 2% Mixed Varietals

The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...
