Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Dark ruby/purple. A captivating and refined nose with well-integrated aromas of blackberries, violets and roasted coffee beans. Elegance and crystal purity characterize this extremely complex and densely woven wine with an aging potential of decades.

"Very supple, this red oozes seduction and class. Cherry, raspberry, violet and spice flavors are accented by licorice and mineral notes. An intense wine, but always shows tension and focus. There's a firm structure for support, and this is almost racy on the long mineral aftertaste. Best from 2014 through 2035. 80 cases imported."
"Good deep red. Blacker fruits on the nose than the basic Barbaresco: cassis, black cherry, violet, tar, minerals and a hint of truffle. Wonderfully rich, sweet and pliant but with firm underlying structure. Finishes very long and perfumed, with a broad dusting of tannins."
