This vineyard lies a few steps from Sori Tildin. Purchased by the Gaja family in 1967, it derives its name from the term "costa," the side of the hill that faces the sun, and "Russi," the nickname of the former owner.
The color is a dark ruby/purple. This wine exhibits a captivating and refined nose with well-integrated aromas of blackberries, violets and roasted coffee beans. On the pallate, it shows elegance and crystal purity characterize this extremely complex and densely woven wine with an aging potential of decades.
"Purchased by the Gaja family in 1967, the Costa Russi vineyard produces elegant expressions or Nebbiolo with beautifully saturated, sun-drenched flavors. Indeed, this vintage shows wild berry with beautiful background renderings of smoke and graphite. Five percent Barbera is added and the wine shows amazing harmony and sophistication with bright acidity and firm tannins. It will only become more beautiful in time. Cellar Selection. "

"A gorgeous center of soft, perfumed fruit, the wine reveals notable clarity and detail once it opens up in the glass, with dark cherries, flowers and minerals that linger on the finish. "
