Promis represents the combination of grapes from Gaja's two Tuscan estates - Merlot and Syrah from Ca'Marcanda and Sangiovese from Pieve Santa Restituta. The blend will vary from year to year as Ca'Marcanda's vineyards mature.
Color: Light garnet. Aroma: Bright and fruity with a jammy nose. Taste: Full to medium-bodied, with medium chewy tannins and a firm finish.
This blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Syrah and 10% Brunello features piercing high-toned aromas of smoke and cherries layered over a base of darker, plummier fruit. There's plenty of cocoa, chocolate and French oak, but also a snap of juicy acidity that brings it back to its Italian roots. From Angelo Gaja.
